I got to spend another week in Maui with Kennedy for her spring break, and my parents were able to spend a couple weeks, coming ahead of us and staying with my dad’s high school buddy Don before Kennedy and I flew in.
We stayed at the Andaz Maui again on Hyatt Points. It’s the most amazing use of Hyatt Points I’ve found so far, and makes it difficult to justify spending points anywhere else.
This trip was a lot more low-key than our trip in 2024 when we tried to hit all the “big things”. We spent more time around the resort relaxing and reading. My highlight was dinner at Mama’s, which is often touted as the best restaurant on the island. Shep was able to get us in somewhat last-minute on our penultimate night there. The food was excellent, but the location was incredible. Our table was one of two in the restaurant in a U-shape with all of our seats facing the ocean.
